The mixing instructions of the garlon 3A are a bit confusing. I have approximately 4 acres of pasture that I need to spray to get rid of the weeds and woody plants.

According to the label you do not want to exceed 2/3 gallon of Garlon 3 per acre per year for pastures. I would suggest mixing ¼ gallons to 2/3 gallons of Garlon 3A in 10-20 gallons of water per acre. If there is more woody vegetation than broadleaf weeds I would go closer to 2/3 gallons of Garlon, if there is more weeds you will be able to get away with a less of concentration. I would also suggest mixing in a non-ionic surfactant with the mixture. Mix the surfactant at a 1:2 ratio of surfactant to herbicide. Since you mentioned pastures I did want to call out that there are a couple of grazing restrictions as well: o Do not allow lactating dairy animals to graze treated areas until the following growing season o Do not harvest hay for 14 days after application o Grazed areas of non-cropland and forestry sites may be spot treated ifthe comprise no more than 10% of the grazable area.
